Eat To Assist Your Gut, Not Damage It

I'm sure many of you have heard about gut health and its importance to your overall health. If you haven't, you have some serious reading to do because it's more important than many of us are aware. 80% of your immune system is in your microbiome and this is the bacteria that helps your body with just about every single process. Digesting food, thinking clearly and maintaining a healthy weight are all results of a healthy gut!

When your gut microbiome is balanced you stay healthy, have high energy levels and are able to maintain a good mood. Are you seeing a pattern here? Every single one of these 4 categories for this diet assist you in your energy levels. However, how many times do you hear your friends or people complain about how tired they are? This lack of energy wasn't always the case in our society but it's now ubiquitous because of our diets.

An unbalanced gut microbiome causes a great deal of issues for your health and new research is starting to link this towards many different types of cancers. Diets that are high in processed foods and sugar consumption are the strongest causes of an unhealthy gut. When you're out of balance in your gut, you'll have low levels of energy and motivation. If this is what you want, then continue to damage your insides. However, if you want to be a person who is constantly feeling energetic and productive then you need to eat foods that improve your gut health.

I believe the gut is our second brain and it's just as important to fuel this as anything else in our body. So what foods should you be eating to improve your gut microbiome? Firstly, dramatically reduce the amount of processed foods and sugars from your diet. When you do start to do this and eat clean, you'll won't have anywhere near as strong a desire to eat these foods. Removing these foods will instantly make you feel better, seriously the difference is unbelievable!

Now, the foods that you should eat! Leafy green vegetables and fermented foods are both incredibly beneficial and after searching for the best foods I came up with 7 that you should include in your diet. These are: turmeric, kombucha, sauerkraut, avocado, carrots, broccoli and beans. The great thing about these foods is that it's so easy to incorporate many of these into your everyday diet. Here's an example:

Kombucha drink once a day, avocado with a salad at night and broccoli, carrots and beans with your meal at dinner. Like I said you don't always have to add every single one of these each day but make sure that you eating something for your gut health. Just like all other categories in this diet, you will notice an incredible difference to your life if you can consistenly do this every single day.
